The new CmF is out! It has a new style and it is filled with wonderful articles with a lot of variety! I think it looks great!! :) So go get it!! :)

I have one article in there about scrapping on a budget. Made 2 fun, low budget mini albums. Also I did an article about colorful scrapping using Hambly. A couple of LO's and a funky, colorful mini album made from cardboard and Hambly sheets. I will be teaching workshops related to these 2 articles after summer (Sept. 5th., Sept. 26th., Oct. 18th. and Nov. 8th.) in Heesch. More information about the workshops you can find on the backside of the magazine or on the CmF website.

And since the new issue is out I can show you what I made for the previous one. Let's start with this LO about Anne and me: Because I'm your mom

Memory game

I made this memory game a while ago. I used pictures of our vacation last year which makes it so much more fun for Marlijn to play with then just a regular memory game.

    

I took 3mm chipboard and covered it on one side with patterned paper using book binding glue. In Picasa I made little collages of 4 pictures (2 of the same) and printed them. Then I covered the other side of the chipboard with the pictures using book binding glue again. After everything had dried I cut the pictures with a really sharp knife and rounded the corners with the paper gator (Around the Block).

The box I received in the mail and I kept it for further use which came in very handy now :). There was some kind of advertisement on the top that I covered with paper, pictures and embellishments. Everything here is Prima except the rubon letters, they are Royal & Langnickel. The collage on the top was also made in Picasa, using a selection of the pictures used for the game. I printed the collage, put the crystal oval on top and then cut away the excess parts around the oval.

It was a lot of work but worth it. It made me really happy when I was finished :)

Wow, it's been 8 p.m. and I have 71 comments on my RAK post! and a lot of you commented for the first time! So fun to see where you all come from, how you found my blog and so on. I'm obviously not blogging just for me, lol!!  For those of you who comment on a regular base... your messages are highly appreciated, they often put a smile on my face, they make me want to keep on blogging!! For those who commented for the first time... I know it can be a little bit scary commenting for the first time but I think I gave you a pretty good reason to do it anyway this time, and it was not that scary after all, was it?? :)

I was tagged by Alexandra to share 6 of habits. I haven't done any tags in a long time, because at some point I thought there where just to many tags for a while. But I thought I could do this one :)

So six habits, here we go:

* I read in bed every night, no matter how late, I have to read a couple of pages before I turn down the light and go to sleep.

* When my DD Anne is singing in her room I sometimes sit down on the stairs and listen for a while without her knowing (she would stop if she knew) I love to hear her singing! :)

* I always leave things I have to do until it really can't wait any longer. But the pressure that gives somehow makes me perform better...

* I only listen to the radio when I'm in the car. At any other time I think it's way to much noise. My kids make enough noise and when they're not there I enjoy the silence.

* Just this week I started swimming 3 times a week in the morning with my friend Anette after we dropped the children off at school. Aren't we good girls? :) (Ughhh, it was soooo cold and rainy this morning, and yes... we're swimming outdoors!)

* I love olives, especially the ones I buy in a little shop here in Winsum. They're delicious and my weekend treat. Can't believe I thought they were gross just a couple of years ago!

I've waited a long time for you. For years I thought you'd never come and I cried many tears because of that. When you were finally on your way and the pregnancy went so extraordinary well there wasn't a happier person in the world then me! You were just a little baby, barely 5.5 pounds, and you were so adorable with your dark hair and bright eyes. A few days after you were born I knew... It's all good now, our family is complete! Now you're 6 years old but still my little girl. Anne and Lennart are so big already, so independent... but you still really need your mommy. You still get into our bed in the morning. You still like to hug and cuddle. You still put you little hand in mine when we walk outside. You still climb on my lap. You're a gift and I enjoy every day with you! After all these years I would like to repeat to you what we wrote on you birth announcement: It's so wonderful to have you here!

I am honored that my blog was choosen as the April winner of the blog award on Scrappers Anonimous!

Pictures...

This morning we went over to visit Anita to bring her a belated birthday present. We had a nice morning. Anita and I talked and drank coffee while Marlijn was drawing a little and playing with Willis and the cats. Before we went home Anita did a little shoot with Marlijn and also took a couple of photo's of Marlijn and I together. I sooo love these pictures!! I have hardly any pictures of myself with my kids and I think these are just wonderful. They bring a smile on my face and make me want to scrap right away. (I didn't have that feeling all week, such a bummer I have other plans this evening).

 

My BIL and SIL are expecting their second child and last week (during our family getaway) we did a little belly shoot :)

Back home...

We arrived back home yesterday afternoon after a lovely family getaway! We spend a week in an amazing old farm house and had a great time! Here a little impression:

 

Yep, we enjoyed our selves :)

So, today we had to get back in our normal routine, but, since the kids still have vacation and we didn't set the alarm clock this morning, it was hard to get up and going...

Tomorrow Anne and Lennart are going to school again but Marlijn has no school until Monday so I guess my daily routine will have to wait a little more :)

This morning I decorated this cute little frame. Not my usual bright colors but a little bit of vintage. Guess I was in a romantic mood today :)

 

The tendrils (ranken) are made by covering wire with green masking tape. Once the wire is covered you can bend the wire any way you like ;)
