Last weekend was the KKD at Kars, where I was supposed to demonstrate with Sassafras Lass. But a couple of days before I got a phone call... Kars will no longer sell Sassafras, so the demo was canceled!
Let's say I wasn't thrilled! Not only did I spend a lot of time making a lot of examples but I just can't believe that they're letting such a wonderful brand go! Anyway, their decision, nothing I can do :(
I stead of doing the Sassafras demo I was now asked to do a Tattered Angels make-and-take together with Wendy, the owner of Tattered Angels. I had worked with glimmer mist before, even did an article about it in Mijn Creatieve Hobby, but I didn't really know what to expect of the make-and-take. It was sooo much fun! Tattered Angels has some great new products. F.i. chalkboard, it's in a bottle with a spray cap but it's much more solid then the glimmer mist, almost opaque, and Glam, which is a real paint with paillette and it resists glimmer mist, so imagine the fun techniques you can do with this! And let's not forget the glaze, like the Glam it's a paint but it's more smooth and has a nail polish brush in the cap, perfect to fill in details! These won't be available here until the end of march though, so be patient! Also Wendy brought a lot of tags, fancy cards, crape paper and chips that Heidi Swapp designed for Tattered Angels. Really cool stuff! So, although I felt very sorry about how things went with Sassafras I had a really good time with Tattered Angels! When I went home Wendy gave me a couple of bottles to play a little at home. And that brings me back to my title: Spring! Spring is what I had in mind when I started this canvas yesterday. This morning however we woke up to winter wonderland again. After a couple of days without snow it's a white world outside again... to be honest... I would like a little bit of spring now...
I had so much fun trying and playing that I was working on a second canvas at the same time:
OK, that's it for now, I'm off to visit my dad, who's celebrating his birthday today! See you!
