No idea where this came from, LOL! When I started this page I had something totally different in mind. Actually I intended to create a scrapbook page. I started with a sheet of Manilla Cardstock, a black and white picture of me and my hubby and some Glimmer Mist colors.
I didn't really have an idea of what I wanted to do and just started spraying. I did know I wanted to use this song phrase as my title. That rainbow kept coming up in my mind, color, color, color. And then I just kept writing, drawing circles and adding color and ended up with this.
I have to say, it was very relaxing and fun to do and I really like the result though it is very different to what I normally do.
So here's a little insight into how this page was created:
I converted a B&W picture to pencil drawing in Picasa, printed it A4 (letter) size and cut it out. I applied it to the bottom of a sheet of Manilla cardstock using Gel Medium to make sure the backside of the paper was completely covered and would prevent it from wrinkling when sprayed. (Be careful though not to spill any gel medium outside the picture on your background, it will create a resist to the spray paints and they won't stick on it!)
Then I spray painted the whole piece with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (It's Orange, Sunflower, Candy Corn, Key Lime Pie, Kiwi, Dragonfly, Aquamarine and Simply Sheer Pink and Rosey). in some places I used a brush to add some extra color like in the faces and the coat. Then I took a brush and added watered down white acrylic paint to the part between the sun and the heads to soften en blend the colors. After that I created the title (using letter stickers from 7Gypsies) and the part of the text going around our heads (ZIG Artist Sketchin Pen). Then I drew the lines, wrote all the lyrics and drew the circles. I colored in the circles in rainbow colors using Aquamarkers (Letraset). Finally I wrote the words in the sun and added the white accents using a white pen (Reminisce).
I hope this inspires you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new and different!
Thanks for visiting, make sure to come back soon :)
Have an amazingly creative day!
