About 19 years ago I did an attempt on oil painting.
Let’s say it was not my medium. I was not very good at it and I didn’t enjoy it enough to take the time to learn.
I only made 2 or 3 paintings. One of these paintings though is still in my bedroom and very dear to me. It’s me and my newborn baby.
My little girl Anne is not so little anymore. Next month she is turning 20 (my gosh, how did that happen?) and tomorrow she’s starting a new big adventure in her life.
After being in Hawaii for 6 months last year she decided it is time to explore another part of the world. Tomorrow evening we will drop her off at Schiphol airport for her flight to Bangkok from where she will travel through Thailand and Indonesia for 2 months.
After an introduction week with small group it will be just her and her backpack in Thailand until she’s meeting a friend in Jakarta 4 weeks later. From there they will travel together through Java, Bali and Lombok for another month.
It will be a whole new experience for her, being all on her own. Not knowing today where she will be tomorrow.
I am confident that she will do great and that she will have an amazing time. Making life time memories, meeting new people, enjoying the sun and the beautiful nature. I’m looking forward to hear her stories and see her pictures.
I am very happy that she is able to do this. Wish I would have had the oppertunity to do things like this when I was young. Those 2 months will be over before I know it… But I will miss her and can’t wait to have her back home :)
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
