My Tattered Angels/Prima blog hop layout

Last thursday there was a fun blog hop over at the Tattered Angels and Prima blogs. I hope you enjoyed it! I showed a little sneakie and you could see the completed project on the Tattered Angels blog. Today I'm sharing the layout I created for this blog hop here.

I used a Prima mistable canvas sheet which I colored with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Key Lime Pie, Olive Vine, Trunk Bay and Jack Frost. I covered the three little flowers with TA Glam Chandelier to give them a shiny look. Flowers, chipboard alpha, SIIC, trinkets, notecard and the cut out little butterflies are all Prima. The crocheted ring on the journaling spot was handmade by myself :)

And here is the layout with a picture of me and my sweet daughter having a good time at the Lake of Annecy last vacation. I so enjoyed having her and her boyfriend visiting us for a couple of days!! (and yes, the water was really that blue!)

Crochet stone

Yeah! This is my first crocheted stone! Maybe not perfect... yet :) but for a first attemp I'm pretty satisfied!

Crocheting?? Me????? No way!!!!

 
Ok, I blame it all on Pinterest!

Untill a little less than 2 weeks ago I had never used a crochet hook in my whole life. And I've always said I never would. Crocheting was not for me, it was probably boring... and difficult... Anyway, since I started pinning a couple of months ago I see the most beautiful crochet stuff coming by every day. And the more I saw, the more I thought "I want to make that too!!"

So one night I went over to my friend Alice and she showed me how to make the basic stitches. I told her that I would like to learn how to make the flower rings, the last one of the examples she had send me. Of course I didn't have the patients to start with the easiest, LOL, story of my life... I want to do the real thing right away or nothing at all!

So I made some of these rings:

 

And than I thought I was ready for somehting bigger :)

I found a great step-by-step tutorial in dutch on how to make Granny Squares and now I'm working on this:

I know these are probably the easiest Granny Squares there are but still I'm pretty amazed by myself! I think I'm hooked... :D

Last week we had to go somewhere and I asked DH how long we had to drive. He said more then half an hour and I said "Great!", and took my crochet stuff with me. After a couple of miles driving, me crocheting, he looked at me and said "you know, that my daughter turned 17 this week, I can live with that... but that my wife is crocheting next to me in the car makes me feel really old!" LOL!!! To bad honey, you better get used to it! :D
