Crew Member Saturday With Andrea

Hello there and welcome to Crew Member Saturday! Can you believe it is already December and this is the last Crew member Saturday of the year already?!!

Today we have Andrea who created some lovely book marks in her usual amazing colors and layers.

Hi Andrea here!

I love quick and artistic gifts at this time of year and bookmarks are some of my favorites!

I started with Strathmore Mixed Media paper that I die-cut into two bookmark shapes.  Using lots of fabulous Birgit stamps, I heat embossed them with white powder onto the white paper.  I traced the balloon flowers from the mask and colored them in with a white embossing pen then heat embossed those as well.  When my embossing was done, I smeared some acrylic paint onto the tags.

Once I had my base established, I outlined the embossed balloon flower shapes with a black Sharpie and added Infusions color stain, then spritzed the bookmarks with water.  I also added some acrylic ink, which I also spritzed and let run down the bookmark.

Once I dried my background, I stamped onto the bookmarks with more stamps using Ranger Jet Black Archival ink.

 

I finished off my bookmarks by outlining the edges with a black Sharpie and adding a piece of yarn through the top.

 

To make sure they would hold up to whatever they were put through, I glued them to a chipboard base that was cut in the same shape as the bookmark.

Crew Member Wednesday With Linda

Hi everyone! Welcome to another Crew Member Wednesday. It's Linda's turn today and she created a gorgeous little gift box. Isn't this just the perfect idea, right in time for Christmas?!!

Hi there.

December is getting closer and for many people it’s the season for giving gifts.

Today I want to share a box I’ve made.

 

I’ve found this flat box at a local craft store. I took it apart and and added pattern to it with a Carabelle Studio embossing folder designed by Birgit Koopsen
I then painted the outside with black acrylic paint and let it dry.
I inked the black paint with Distress Oxide and let it dry.
I then went over the red ink with gold acrylic paint using a sponge. The Distress oxide ink mixed in to the acrylic paint and gave it a red gold look. When dry I built the box and started on the star decoration.
To create the star I used embossing powder gold and then some gold ink spray. Cut out the stars and decorate the box after closing it.

Hello! It's Crew member Wednesday again!! 

Today it's Hermien's turn and I think her idea comes just in time to prepare for your Christmas gifts. Because, who would not love to receive a beautiful handmade card with their gifts?!

While the sun is making a real effort to let me believe summer is still here (yeah don't you love an autumn like this?) I am sitting at my kitchen table writing a short story about my two little cards for this month's BMMAC contribution..

It started with some left over paper and folding..what to make? Small ..hmm why not make a bigger little card to attatch to a gift or bouquet..you all know how small the 'normal' cards are and while writing a wish or thank you note you are forced to write very tiny or use less words than you wanted to? On this folded card you have much more space to say what you want to say!

I began with gesso and paint and the flower mask on one side, on the other side I used the circle mask and different colors (blue & yellow and purple & turquois) then embossed the stamps and added some text ..added some extra paint where I wanted to and at the inside of the cards I made gesso circles to write in..Used my black marker at the edges..now this post is ready I am thinking about making punch holes and ore some wire, but didn't do that... edit: I did☺ see pics!..have fun!

Crew Member Wednesday With Karin

Hello! It's crew member Wednesday and today we have Karin with a set of gorgeous tags! Love, love, love the colors!!

I got inspired by the beautiful colors of nature and the falling leafs and therefore I decided to create something with one of Birgit's gorgeous leaf stamps!

I started with a gelprint out of my stash and cut it into two tags.

Then I stamped them with the "leaf" stamp.

The next thing I did was stamping the "leaf" on a sheet of paper and I colored them with ecoline markers.

I cut them out and glued them on the already stamped images on the tags.

And as a final touch I added some splashes of gold ecoline.

Hi everyone! It's Crew Member Wednesday and today we have Karen who made a beautiful pencil case in bright and happy colors. So easy to do but such an awesome result!

Welcome everyone to another team tuesday from me, Karen! This month I was a little stuck for an idea so I decided to procrastinate and tidy up my stash a little. I was very glad that I did because I found this little paper pencil case that was perfect for altering.

I love to doodle but sometimes it’s just hard to come up with new doodle ideas, and maybe you are not sure where to start! But I’ve found a perfect little & very easy solution for that! You can doodle over a stamp! Yes. That easy! Simply trace over and make a beautiful art journal page!

Here you can watch my video. The trick is to use a bit of the same color ink while stamping, as the background is. That way, you can hardly see the stamp, but your beautiful pencil or pen lines will stand out. I have used a bit darker magenta color so my white ink will look gorgeous!

Crew Member Wednesday With Hermien

Hello! It's Crew member Wednesday again!! 

Today Hermien is here with another set of beautiful cards! She made these while she was dealing with a broken hip, can you imagine?!

Hi, its Hermien again with some flowery cards. I had plans to make a small book but unfortunately I broke my hip and was not able to climb stairs (my hobby/happy space is still upstairs, next month I hope to move down stairs!) so maybe next month!

Decided to stay in the circle mood, but this time a little bigger, I used my round gelli plate to color the background, embossed the flower stamps and added some extra color, my camera was not able (or its me?) to catch the fluor orange, so it's really much brighter than on the pics..! I distressed  the edges and used a white marker to scribble some text.

Crew Member Wednesday With Karin

Hello! It's crew member wednesday already again and today with have Karin with an absolutely stunning project! What can I say, I'm just totally in love with this colourful side table she created!!

Hello! For todays post I pimped a little Ikea side table

1. I started with a circle of white paper and put a layer of gesso on it and allowed it to dry;

2. then I chose the colors I wanted to use and applied the paint on the paper with a (credit) card;

3. After it dried I used a lot of stencils randomly on the papercircle with ink and paint;

4. I stamped some flowers and colored them with ecolinemarkers and glued them also on the paper;

5. and finally I doodled a bit on the circle whit a white pen and applied a layer of varnish.
