Another Scraptastic 2010! workshop...

 

 

Ohhh happy days!
Isn’t summer the best time of the year? The days of the wonderful outdoor life, gardening, camping, relax on vacation ...
Ohhh happy days! Days worth to be remembered, pictures that are worth a special place!
In this workshop we will be working with a blackboard photo box and the beautiful Garden Variety Collection of Cosmo Cricket, Jenni Bowlin stickers and Color Conspiracy transparencies. We will be making a mini album in bright summer colors and you’ll be surprised about the amount of pictures and journaling that will fitt in there!

All about Nathalie...

Shame on me! 10 days since I blogged! 10 days since I visited your blogs... Well, I guess sometimes everyday life just get's in the way :)

Anyway, I have some things to share today!

Last week I got some happy mail! My sweet and talented friend Nathalie Kalbach send me her paper line that she just recently had released with Sultane. As you probably know Nat is the queen of techniques and she designed some gorgeous artistic papers, overlays and stamps that make you want to scrap right away. Make sure to check out her blog and get inspired with her colorful artwork! Luckily I found some time this weekend to play a little and I made this LO using an old picture of my sweet son, taken almost 13 years ago when he was only 1,5 years old. Now how cute can a boy be!!!

 
But there is more about Nathalie :)

Last year at the Cherrypie event I watched Nat teaching her spinning wheel/alcohol ink/CD workshop. I loved this technique very much and asked Nat if it was ok if I used it in one of my own workshops. She said I could and even gave me one of her spinning wheels (how sweet is that?!) Last weekend I used it at one of our Mixed Media Day workshops at The Buzz and it was a big succes! Here is the example I made:

What can I say...

...she just LOVES those horses!! There isn't much that makes Marlijn happier then spening time with a horse. For about a year she's been nagging that she wanted riding lessons. I thought it might pass by and wanted her to finish her swimming lessons first. But she didn't stop asking and finished swimming lessons in august, so about 3 month ago I agreed and took her to the local riding school. She had to start with voltige (don't know the english word) to get used to a horse and it's moves. Yesterday her insructor told her that she is secure, confidend and balanced enough to go to the next class next week and ride with a saddle! Now Marlijn is counting the days for the next lesson. She is soooo excited! And it makes me really happy to see her enjoying this so much! My little hors girl :)

Easter breakfast (a Color Conspiracy LO)

Made this LO today about Marlijn enjoying her Easter breakfast. She loves the Easter raisin bread with the almondpaste inside that we only eat at Easter and Christmas. And she wants the almondpaste all spread out over the bread. She is a real sweet tooth! :)

All patterned papers and the transparency are from Color Conspiracy. (letters AC, flower and leaves Prima, stamps Sassafras and Autumn Leaves, brad Li'l Davis and a little bit of glimmer mist).

Back home...

We had a lovely and relaxed Easter weekend, nothing big, no egg hunting or so. Just nice and quiet and easy. Hope you all had a great Easter too!

Yesterday evening we had our Buzz Stamp it up! workshop and it was a big succes! It was so fun to see the amazed and enchanted faces with some of the techniques :) Like we were making magic! I thaught them how to make their own stamps with penscore and Cuttlebug templates and we made this little envelop book in which we used stamps, ink, glimmer mist and embossing powder in 23! different ways. Of course they got a written instruction of every tehcnique to take home!:

Scraptastic workshop "design your own life" and taking a little break...

We decided to take a 2 day break over Easter. Anne has to work on Sunday afternoon and is going to “Spring”, a music event, in the evening. She stays the night at a friend’s house and has to work again on Monday (she’s a waitress in the local Chinese Restaurant). Besides that she’s not keen on sharing bedrooms with us anymore, so Erik, Lennart, Marlijn and me will be sharing a family room in a nice hotel at a Frysian lake. The weather is probably not great so we will take books, laptops, nintendos and magazines and spend most of the time in the closed veranda and relax! Read a little, eat a little, drink a little…

Of course we could do this at home but the “being-served-and-not-need-to-clean-up-afterwards” part is what makes it so nice to go away! J Because even when you’re free there’s always something that needs to be done at home. Even if it’s just the cooking and the dishwashing…

Maybe I will update about our little holiday while we’re there, if not I’ll be back on Tuesday!
