Hey it's vacation!! At least here in the north of the Netherlands vacation started last weekend! Finally! I can't wait to start traveling, one of my favourite things to do. I hope I can find some time before I leave to create one of these awesome shoe bags that Marsha created for today's Crew Member Wednesday post. How fun is this?!!!

Hi there! It’s Marsha Valk here today, sharing a plain and boring cotton shoe bag that I transformed using Birgit’s stamps and some fabric dye and paint.
Preparations:
Wash and iron your cotton fabric item. The paint will grab onto the fibers better when all sizing is washed out.
Step 1:
Use a fabric dye to stain the fabric.
The dye I used comes in a spray bottle, but I poured some of it out into a cup and applied it to the fabric with a sponge.
Let the dye dry completely.
Step 2:
Find a cardboard panel that you can place inside the bag to keep the fabric straight whilst you are working on it. It will also prevent the paint from seeping through to the other side of the bag.
Slip the cardboard into a plastic bag before you place it inside the bag. This will make removing the cardboard much easier once the paint is dry.
Step 3:
Grab a couple of different colours of fabric paint. Use a cosmetic sponge to dab the paint onto your stamps.
Don’t let the paint dry on the stamps. Keep a bowl of water nearby to temporarily keep the stamps in until your are ready to clean them.
Add more marks using a brush or your fingers.
Leave the paint to dry completely before turning the bag over to paint the other side.
Step 4:
Be sure to read the instructions on the fabric paint you are using. Some paints just need to dry for a set amount of hours. Others need to be fixated before they are water and wash proof.
The fabric paint I used on my shoe bag needed to dry for 30 minutes and then heat set by ironing it on setting 2.
