Hello! Today's Crew Member project is a cute, colourful little mini journal made by Hermien. Such a clever idea to use hair bands to bind the little book and I love the stitching to around the pages!!

The theme of this month is For the love of color and I decided to make a small booklet from gelli prints.
I unwrapped my Gelli Arts® minis and used stamps on the small square, carefully pressing down en lifting up, I like the effect it gave! Also used stencils (triangle and flowers) ... those colors..♥♥♥
The paper I used to clean my brayer seemed made to be the cover of my booklet...! I cut two pieces and glued them back to back for extra sturdiness. I made 2 folds to create a spine so I could insert some pages (made far to many :-) ) The gelli prints were cut into small squares and then glued onto black rectangle sheets of cardstock (2 on both sides so each sheet holds 4 prints). Then I folded the black sheets in the middle creating 2 pages for my little book.
I cut the words from a magazine and made the word COLOR from my pile of die cut letters. The heart stamps was embossed with black embossing powder. I used some washi tape to cover the spine. Than took my gelpen and wrote color names on the front.. The sewing machine did its work making a outline.
For the back of the cover I took a stencil and black distress ink and rubbed with a make up sponge. Then I took (my newest♥) stamp set from Carabelle by Birgit and embossed those beautiful circles at the other side.
I colored in some little details with my orange and white gelpen and wrote the same words as on the front cover. Then I took the folded pages and used hair bands to bind the book (this will be handy when I want to stamp, paint or scribble on the pages, I can simply remove them and put them back after finishing).
And finished!
