Hi everyone! It's Crew Member Wednesday and we have Linda today sharing a very cool art journal spread in which she included a photograph of herself. I love how this turned out and as always Linda rocks the black and white with a little bit of color!

Hello !

Today I want to show you a personal and very intuitive made art journal page. I started to prep the page with white gesso, due to the thin paper in the book. I could also have made a background collage to make the page sturdier, but this time I went for only a layer of white gesso. Before I started I took out a few stamps and masks to choose from. I also decided to only use black and white paint and ink, but changed my mind along the way and added some colored ink and ephemera.

Workshop Gel Printing In Mijn Studio - 22/23 Juni

Op vrijdag 22 en zaterdag 23 juni a.s. geef ik in mijn studio in Winsum (Gn.) een workshop gel printing technieken.

Tijdens deze workshop gaan we in een klein groepje (max. 9 deelnemers) aan de slag met een aantal technieken met misschien niet zo voor de hand liggende producten zoals stempelinkt, water-oplosbare krijtjes, oliekrijtjes en alcoholinkt. Ook leer je alle ins-and-outs van het transfer printen met tijdschriften en boeken en werk je met de nieuwste stencils en art printing plates van Carabelle Studio.

Je print op labels van 8x16cm waar je aan het eind van de dag een leuk tag albumpje van maakt.

Plaats: Winsum (Gn.)

Tijd: 10.00-17.00 uur

Prijs: € 72,50 inclusief alle materialen, koffie, thee, snacks en lunch.

Wat neem je mee? Helemaal niks! In mijn studio zijn alle materialen aanwezig die je nodig hebt :)

Crew Member Wednesday With Karen

Hello! It's Crew Member Wednesday again!! Today Karen is sharing a beautiful mixed media tag with beautiful colors and I love that sunny yellow and her home made washi tape using my "I heart washi" stamp set!

Hi everyone! It’s time for another Crew Member Wednesday and this project sees me creating on a jumbo sized tag just to shake things up a bit and get outside of my Art Journal. Working on a different size or substrate is like taking a walk to get some fresh air for my creativity!

I made my own paper washi tape by using Birgit’s stamps and this time I tried stamping on top of some medial tape. The results were not quite what I was expecting but I loved the translucent effect anyway.

I also got to play with the art masks and I was going to fussy cut the leaves when I remembered I had my scan and cut! I traced the design and cut out my own leaves to use in black card stock.

 

I hope you enjoy watching my tutorial and you get inspired to try out a new size or item to get creative with!

Crew Member Wednesday With Karin

Hello! Welcome to Crew Member Wednesday. Today it's Karin's turn and she made 3 lovely cards using an Art Printing Plate and the Gelli Arts® gel printing plate. I think they are totally cool and yes, life is pretty awesome!!

Hi, it's Karin here, showing you how I created these fun cards :)

 

I used the Gelli Arts® gel printing plate and one of Birgit’s Art Printing Plate designs.

I used different colors of paint on the gel plate.

I drew a figure on a piece of paper and used it as a mask. I placed it on a phone book page, drew aroud it, cut it out and and glued it on the cards.

I also made some marks on the cards with a white pen and some glitter markers.

 Hi there! It's the first Saturday of the month and that means that one of my Guest Crew Members is here to inspire you! Today it's Revlie with a beautiful art journal page in some of my favourite colors. I think it is pretty smart how she combined my masks with watercolor. Watch her video for detailed instructions. Hi! Revlie from the Netherlands! I am honored to be part of Birgit’s Art Crew as a Guest Designer and I’ll make a new project every 3 months!

Using watercolors with a stencil can be very challenging, but it is going to be very easy, if you first outline your stencil with a pencil. This is a quick & easy but mostly fun way to use your stencil differently! Have fun creating!

Crew Member Wednesday With Hermien

Hello! It's Crew member Wednesday!! 

Here's Hermien with some lovely birthday cards. Now who would not love to get a pretty card like that in their mail box?! I sure would! :)

In our family we celebrate a lot of birthdays in April/May, including my own ☺ so birthday cards?!?

Used some left overs, a small piece of paper I used to clean my brayer and stencils

I wanted to use I stamp set on each card, thought that I did so, but...I cheated a little (you will see)

the blue green card I made on valentine's day...just embossed the hearts and masked them while stamping the small circles, stamped the hearts again in green in the background and doodled a little border, finally I added the small hearty branches and used a a gel pen to color the small hearts red and distressed the borders

the yellow red card was simply stamped, no embossing, colored the circles with acrylic pens and the knitted circles with watercolor glued some washi and distressed the borders

I love the fact that you can turn scraps into cards..!
